ABOUT

Claudio Cea is a Film Editor working in feature films, documentaries, commercials, and film trailers. Born to Italian parents in Switzerland, he is able to work in English, French, German and Italian. He holds an Italian and a Swiss passport.

He is a member of the European Film Academy, the Swiss Film Academy and was a member of the Canadian Cinema Editors. Claudio is an alumnus of the Vancouver Film School in Canada and the International Film School of Cologne in Germany, and an AVID Certified Instructor. In addition to his diverse portfolio of theatrical work, he also shaped over 100 factual/reality, documentary, and dramatic programs for SRF Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (Swiss National Radio and Television) over five years.

Claudio was also a Tutor for Open Doors Industry at the Locarno Film Festival 2016 and the Dok.Incubator Program in 2015. Claudio Cea was part of the 2016 Berlinale Talents.  He was in the Jury for the 2015 & 2016 Canadian Cinema Editors Awards.

Claudio has studied under Motion Picture Editors Eric Zumbrunnen (John Carter from Mars, Being John Malkovich), Patricia Rommel (Life of Others, The Tourist), Barbara Hennings (Marlene, Aimee and Jaguar); and many others.

He has attended Editing Workshops and Master Classes by Don Cambern (Easy Rider), Peter Przygodda (Wings of Desire, Don´t Come Knocking), James Haygood (Fight Club, Tron Legacy), Graham Hartstone (re-recording Mixer Blade Runner, Aliens), Pat Jackson (Sound Designer Apocalypse Now, The English Patient), Paul Davies (Sound Designer: Hunger, We need to talk about Kevin), Monika Willi (Editor: Amour, White Ribbon), Andrew Bird (Editor: Head-On, The Cut) and Sylvia Ingemarsson (Editor Fanny and Alexander, Faithless, Autumn Sonata)
